Participants of the We the People Community Quilt project were asked to answer a number of questions regarding their quilt square.
1. What does your square represent? Our amazing history - Buffalo's first Jewish congregation. The first female rabbi to lead a congregation in Buffalo. And Temple Beth Tzebek is a leader championing accessibility for all
2. Why did you choose these symbols? The temple's doors are open to all who seek to worship, learn, and serve the community. The dove is a symbol of peace, love, purity, and the human soul, 'shalom' is an ancient Hebrew word commonly translated as 'peace.' It represents total flourishing, well-being, and harmony across all parts of life.
3. What do you hope viewers notice or feel? Peaceful co-existence rather than us vs them
