Description

A letter thanking the inventor of the first successful vaccine which created a defense against the smallpox virus by inoculating patients with material from cowpox lesions. It appears Jefferson sent the letter to the wrong Jenner � the letter is addressed to a Rev. Dr. G.C. Jenner instead of Dr. Edward Jenner.
